Psychologist Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D.


 

With nearly three decades of medical practice under his belt, Dr. Michael A. Civin recognizes the immense value of a robust education. This realization drove him to pursue academic excellence throughout his career. His educational journey commenced with an A.B. degree, earned with honors from Harvard in 1968. Subsequently, he attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1968 to 1969. In 1970, Dr. Civin obtained an M.A. from the University of Oregon. Displaying a relentless pursuit of knowledge, he returned to academia to earn another Master of Arts degree, specializing in Clinical Psychology, from Adelphi University's Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. His dedication culminated in the acquisition of a Ph.D. from Adelphi in 1988, followed by a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy from the same institution in 1993. Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D., has consistently demonstrated a commitment to cultivating an extensive education in the field of psychology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D., has traversed both the academic realm and private practice. He has held esteemed positions as a full professor, associate professor, and faculty member across various institutions of higher learning. His scholarly contributions have been widely recognized, with numerous articles published in esteemed medical journals and notable book chapters within the realm of psychology.

Currently, Dr. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D., serves as a practicing clinical psychologist, drawing upon a wealth of experience gained over nearly three decades in the field. As a senior psychologist at Rose Hill Psychological Services, a practice he co-founded in 2007, he remains steadfast in his mission to provide affordable psychological services to underserved communities. While primarily based at Rose Hill, Dr. Civin also operates a private practice catering to diverse areas of New York City, including Manhattan, Astoria, and Bayville.
