Psychologist Michael A. Civin, Ph.D.

He has been practicing medicine for nearly 30 years, but Dr. Michael A Civin realized a long time ago that a great education was the key to getting what he wanted. That is why he earned an A.B. degree cum laude from Harvard in 1968, attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1968-69, then he earned an M.A. from the University of Oregon in 1970. That is also why Michael A. Civin went back and earned another Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University’s Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. He officially became Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. when he earned his doctorare from Adelphi in 1988 and then earned a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1993 from the same school. Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. has always sought to pursue as full an education in psychology as possible.

Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. has spent a lot of time in both the academic world and in private practice. At various times, he has served as a full professor, associate professor, or even as a faculty member in many institutions of higher learning. A great many of his scholarly articles have been published in medical journals and as chapters in very important books on psychology.

Currently, Michael A. Civin, Ph.D. is a working clinical psychologist who has compiled a lot of experience in his nearly three decades as in practice. He is currently a senior psychologist at Rose Hill Psychological Services, which he co-founded back in 2007 to provide underserved areas with affordable psychological services. While he primarily works from Rose Hill, he also runs a private practice in other parts of New York City, including Manhattan, Astoria, and Bayville.
