One thing that can be said about Michael A Civin is that he is highly educated. In 1968, he graduated cum laude from Harvard in 1968 with his A.B. degree, which he earned cum laude. Following that, by 1970, he had attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and earned his first Master of Arts degree from the University of Oregon. He earned his second M.A., in Clinical Psychology from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University in 1986, which is where he earned his Ph.D. in 1988. Dr. Michael Civin also received a medical degree from the Pennsylvania Institute Of Straight Chiropractic with his medical degree in 1988 and he completed a Postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 1993.

Currently, Dr. Michael A Civin, Ph.D. works as a specialist in clinical psychology in New York City, where he has been highly regarded by many in the close-knit New York City psychological services industry, due to his long career there. Dr. Michael Civin’s three decade psychology career

Although he first graduated in 1968 from Harvard College -- earned an A.B. degree with cum laude honors at that time -- it was 20 years later that he officially began medical practice in psychology. During that two-decade period, he earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of Oregon as well as a second M.A. and his Ph.D from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. The latter education occurred in the mid-1980s with Dr. Michael Civin completing his Ph.D in clinical psychology in 1988.

Following approximately five years of postdoctoral work toward his certificates in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, Dr. Michael Civin moved into the psychology field professionally. This was 1993. Since that time, he has worked directly with patients in addition to aiding academia. He has served as an associate professor, professor and faculty member in higher education as well as author of multiple book chapters and scholarly published pieces in psychology.

In addition to several decades’ experience, Dr. Michael Civin can also point to a lot of education in his background. Also, his research skills are exceptional, to the point that he has published many book chapters and articles for peer-reviewed journal over the years.
